It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eddie Lynn Pope of Hurt, Virginia, born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, who passed away on June 10, 2021, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Murmon David "Dave" Pope; and his brother Richie Pope. He is survived by: his mother Marie Smith Pope of Altavista; his wife Gwen Jacobs Pope; his children, Jonathan Pope (Ashleigh) of Gretna and Denise Adams (Chris) of Lynch Station; his siblings, Larry Pope (Linda) of Holly Springs, NC, Terry Pope (Carrie) of Sumter, SC, Donnie Pope (Charlene) of Chatham and Sherry Newby (Randy) of Gretna; and his grandchildren, Alashaj, Zavaan, Kylie, Cadence and Caileb.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Ruby Jennings Memorial Scholarship Fund, 2136 Midway Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
