He is survived by: his parents, Troy Prater and Ethel Hunt Prater; his wife Bonnie Thornbury Prater; his grandchild Waylon Cole Shelor of Roanoke, VA; his sisters-in-law, Betty Prater of Hurley, VA. and Gaye Prater of Hurley, VA.; and also, Gena Donahue (Ed) of Roanoke, VA, Stephanie Doss (Richard), Melana Channing Prater, Matthew England, Fiancé Desirea, Amber Shelor (Nic), Caitlin Donahue, Brenna Donahue, Benjamin Donahue and Olivia Dogan of Roanoke, VA.
