John Henry May Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2021, at the age of 95, John Henry May of Hurley, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Parris May and Laura Estep May; his wife Ollie Cook May; his daughter Lillie Mae Hurd; and his siblings, Toby May, Troy May, Alfred May, Jimmy May, Hazel Effler, Pearl Coleman and Edna Hurley.
He is survived by: his sons, Barry Stephen Estep (Lisa) of Pikeville, KY and Ulvert Dotson of Rosedale, VA; and his siblings, Ethel Hurley of Hurley, VA, Shirley Burridge of Grundy, VA, Leroy May (Karen) of Dugspur, VA and Harles May of Jacksonville, FL.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Grundy, VA, Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 2:00 p. m. until 3:00 p. m. In observance of COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be observed, and the wearing of masks is required for attendance.
