He is survived by: his wife Wilma Blankenship Melvin of Hurley, VA; his children, Tonya Mitchell (Kevin) of Great Falls, VA and Will Blankenship (Diane) of Augusta, GA.; and his grandchildren, Corey Blankenship, Jake Blankenship, Joshua Mitchell, Timothy Mitchell and Caitlin Blankenship. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
