It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mark Edwin Mekanik (Huddleston, Virginia), born in Wilmington, Delaware, who passed away on November 2, 2018, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent Edwin August. He is survived by: his spouse Jody Lunsford Mekanik; his parent Barbara Chalk Mekanik; his sons, Andrew Mekanik (Kelly) of Bozeman, MT and Douglas Mekanik (Hillary); his granddaughters, Katie Wright of Richmond and Carter Mekanik of Richmond; and his siblings, Marcia Peterson (Bob) of New Bern, NC, Leigh Barale (Richard) of Plano, TX and Ric Mekanik (Cheryl) of Wilmington, DE. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mark to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Cancer Society.
