He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward Wood, Sr. and Erma Roberts Wood; and his siblings, Jackie Wood Rhymes, Ralph Owen Wood, Bryan Vernon Wood and Larry Eugene Wood.
He is survived by: his siblings, Gloria Wood Sloss of Bedford, VA and Douglas Ray Wood of Hurt, VA. He is also survived by fourteen nieces and nephews.
