George Mays wrote a sympathy message

“Cary meant so much to me as a coworker, boss, mentor, friend and most importantly like an older brother I never had. Cary was one of the most dedicated and hard working individuals I ever met. BWXT would not be the company it is now without Cary and his dedication and role model he was. People there and the customer organizations had a tremendous respect for Cary. I will truly miss him.”
