He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Hicks and Alice Blackburn Hicks; and his siblings, Alfred Hicks, Gorne Hicks, Dolphus Hicks, Annie Cool, Mayrene Tenny and Camilla Cudd.
He is survived by: his spouse Corrine Rucker Hicks; his children, Ray B. Hicks, Jr. of Hot Springs, Kathy Shrewsbury of Roanoke and Patricia Case of Virginia Beach; his grandchildren, Taylor Bryant, Hayden Hicks and Rushford Fleshman; and his great grandchild Scout Bryant.
The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Emory United Methodist Church, 7119 Jackson River Road, Hot Springs, VA 24445.
