He was predeceased by: his parents, Normen Spicer and Bessie Craft Spicer; his son Russell Spicer; and his siblings, Robert Spicer, Warren Spicer, Frances Loan and Lula Belle Persinger.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth Spicer, Helen Mugnone of North Carolina and Norma Husaw of Virginia; his stepson John Defibaugh of Caldwell, WV; and his significant other Ruby Bond. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
