He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh "Buzz" Edward Ryder and Edna Arlene Woodzell. He is survived by: his son Justin Woodzell (Debra) of Warm Springs, Virginia; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Hamilton (Hannah) of Warm Springs and Crystal Hamilton of Hot Springs; his great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Madison, Jennifer and Molly Hamilton; his brothers, Dennis Woodzell (Lisa Pontorno) of Maxwelton and Glenn "Shag" Walton of Union; and his stepfather Imon Walton of Union.
