She was predeceased by: her parents, George Morgan Carpenter and Elsie Armstrong Carpenter; her husband Johnny Woodrow Rodgers; her son Steven Woodrow Rodgers; her granddaughter Terese Rodgers; her son-in-law Bill George; and her siblings, Edith Layton, George Ira Carpenter, Carl "Flea" Carpenter and Robert Carpenter.
She is survived by: her daughters, Connie Rodgers Miano (Rodney) of Lynchburg, Sue George of Staunton and Johnnie Lou Gray (Ron) of Hot Springs; her grandchildren, Lori, Cindy, Michelle, Nick and Kristin; and her sister Josephine Collins of Roanoke, Virginia. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.
