He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Linford Nichols and Sarah Nichols of Hopewell, Virginia.; his sisters, Thelma Thompson and Barbara Piner; his wife Shelvia; his children, Wendell, Jr. (Tina), William Everette (Linda), Kathy Duley (Robert), Frederick, Sarah (Charles) and Franklin, Sr.; his grandchildren, Glenville (Roxanne), Julie (David), Josh (Margaret), Amanda (Mark), Ben (Amber), Seth (Alexandra), Jessica (Matt), Rebecca (Chris), Christopher (Jillian), Katie (Jonny), Ashley, Stephanie (Rusty) and Franklin, Jr. (Destiny); and his grandfather Hodges.
