He is survived by: his wife Judy Stokes of Hopewell, VA; his children, Michelle Stokes and Terrance Stokes of Hopewell, VA; his grandchildren, Saterra Stokes of Hopewell, VA, Sa'Layia Stokes of Hopewell, VA, Cynphany Stokes of Hopewell, VA, Xzavier Brown of Chesterfield, VA, Aaliyah Charity of Chesterfield, VA, Trinity Kitt of Chesterfield, VA, Jasmine Kitt of Chesterfield, VA and Manny Kitt of Chesterfield, VA; his siblings, Hannah Johnson (Ronald) of Crewe, VA, Lena Stokes of Hopewell, VA, Edward Stokes (Debra) of Burkeville, VA, Walter Stokes of Hopewell, VA, Larry Stokes of Hopewell, VA and Daniel Stokes of Hopewell, VA; his cousin Edward Stokes, Jr. (Irene) of Richmond, VA; his brother Randolph Lewis of Lynchburg, VA; and his friend Irma Harris of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM and at 1:30 PM at the W. E. Hawkes and Son Funeral Home (504 East St, Blackstone, VA 23824). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Stokes Family Cemetery (696 Old School House Rd, Burkeville, VA 23922).
