It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rosa J. King (Hopewell, Virginia), born in Charles City, Virginia, who passed away on December 27, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Jones and Etta Jones B. Creighton; her siblings, Hilda Bowman, Betty Charlotte, James Bowman Jr. and Edward Bowman Sr.; and her granddaughter Renee King Barnes.
She is survived by: her children, Edward King Jr. (Thelma) of Charles City, Virginia and Rose King Smith (Frank Tracy) of Nokesville; her grandchildren, Edward King III (Dawn) of Richmond, Michael Smith II (Claudia) of Burke, Ebony King Howlett (Michael) of Richmond and Christopher Smith (Ashley) of Sandbridge, Virginia; her aunt Maggie Payne Edwards; her sisters, Edith King (David), Helen Coleman (Burton), Shelia Pettaway (Leon) and Robin Bowman; her siblings-in-law, Herbert King (Judy), Mildred Bowman, Catherine Mason, Norville Wooden, June Milton (Norman), Lillian Boyd (Frank), Hazel King and Arlene King; and her son-in-law Michael Smith. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Due to Covid restrictions friends visitation will be held 11:00 A. M., to 11:45 A. M. at the church on the day of service.
