We are sad to announce that on November 23, 2024, at the age of 84, Raymond Lee Burton Sr. of Hopewell, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Raymond Lee may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Cosby Burton, Sr. and Constance Simpkins Burton; and his brother Melvin Cosby Burton, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Margy Robertson Burton; his children, Raymond "Lee" Burton, Jr. (Jill), Gordon "Keith" Burton (Shawn) and Cindy B. Watts (Brandon); his nephews, Scott Burton and Chris Burton; and his niece Terry Kutenkuler (Joe). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory - Colonial Heights (2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834).
