He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius McDougal and William McDougal; his wife Valerie Perry-McDougal; his grandson Antonio Spain; his siblings, Helen Patterson, John McDougal, William Jr. McDougal, Richard McDougal, Thomas McDougal, Bernard McDougal, James McDougal and David McDougal; and his siblings-in-law, Lillian Taylor, Phyliss Marsh, Luther Perry, Harold Webster and Floyd Patterson.
He is survived by: his children, Ossie Spain of Hopewell, VA, Ophelia McDougal of Hopewell, VA, Rafael Perry of Hopewell, VA, Giovanni McDougal of Hopewell, VA, Rasheda Ruffin of Hopewell, VA and Christopher Gilyard of Columbus, GA; his sister Rita Webster of Hopewell, VA; his nephew Brenton Taylor; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Gilyard (Roy) of Columbus, GA, Ethel Thompson of Columbia, SC, Evelyn Perry of Hopewell, VA, Bridgette Bowman (James) of Chester, VA, Alice Parker of Hopewell, VA and Kevin McKiever of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by grandchildren and twenty-five plus great grandchildren.
