He was predeceased by: his parents, George F. Ahrend and Elsie Ahrend (Torvund); and his grandson Zachary Ahrend. He is survived by: his wife Chris Ahrend (Van Volkom); his sons, Charles "Chuck" Ahrend (Kimberly) and George "Chip" Ahrend (Christy); his granddaughter Brittany Ahrend; his siblings, Greg Ahrend (Debbye), Elsie Ahrend and Ellen Santacroce (Michael); and his mother-in-law Jenny Van Volkom.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Legion Post 284.
