He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie E. Jones and Mary Jane Jones; his son Gilbert J. Taylor; his siblings, Joe Carroll, Lee, John Lloyd, William and Edna Scott; and his aunts, Eula J. Belle and Amelia M. Freeman.
He is survived by: his wife Sadie B. Mason of Hopewell, VA; and his children, Alexander L. Williams (Rose) of Hopewell, VA, Thomas D. Williams of Newburgh, NY and Gloria M. Blackwell (Leonard) of Chester, VA. He is also survived by grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and many other beloved family members and friends.
