He was predeceased by: his brother Michael Hess; his grandparents, Beverly and Josie Hess; and his cousin Leonard Clinton Taylor. He is survived by: his parents, Garland Burke and Virginia Frances Vance Hess of Honaker; his wife Mary Hess; his children, Amanda Catherine McGlothlin (Bryan) of Honaker, Adam Jefferson Hess (Jessica) of Lebanon, Alaina Leenore Sykes (Daniel) of Cleveland and Aaron Michael Hess of Honaker; his grandchildren, Levi McGlothlin, Lydia McGlothlin, Brody Hess, Tegan Hess, Imogene Hess, Cambria Sykes, Coheed Sykes, Alkaline Sykes and William Hess; his siblings, Pheebe Rowe (Chris) and Sammy Dale Hess (Sharon); and his aunt Frances Taylor. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID restrictions, mandated by the governor, a mask is required for those in attendance.
