He was predeceased by: his mother Patricia Hensley Phillips; and his stepmother Elene Phillips. He is survived by: his father Ralph Phillips of Honaker; his children, Vanessa of South Carolina and T. J. of Honaker, Virginia; and his siblings, Ralph "Bo" of Bristol, Tennessee, Brenda of New Jersey and Denise of Florida. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
