She was predeceased by: her parents, Perry Gilbert and Martha O'Quinn Gilbert; her husband Conley Cook; her sons, Conley Cook, Jr. and Roger Keith Cook; her grandson Shane Presley; her parents-in-law, Charlie and Roxie Stevens Cook; her brothers, Carlos "Bud" Gilbert and James "Jimmy" Gilbert; and her sisters-in-law, Jean Gilbert, Francis Gilbert and Temple Gilbert.
She is survived by: her daughters, Deby James (Michael) of Council, Regina Murphy (Bobby) of Council, Rita Presley (Allan) of Vansant, Anita Owens (Denver) of Council, Martha Compton (Wade) of Lebanon and Christy Childress of Lebanon; her grandchildren, Tara Thayer (Richard) of Lebanon, Nathan Wilson (Jaime) of Lebanon, Matthew Murphy (Selena) of Council, Natasha McGlothlin (Dennis) of Council and Cody Compton (Chelsea) of Lebanon; her great grandchildren, Zoey, Eli McGlothlin, Brooklyn, Owen, Rikki Wilson, Collin Thayer, Liam Compton, Hudson and Harper Williams; her siblings, Dorothy Stevens (Garnett) of Council, Donald Gilbert of Bee and Garnell Gilbert of Vansant; her sister-in-law Larcie Hess (Elden) of Council; and her close friend Julia Johnson of Council. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Honaker Funeral Home (4686 Redbud Hwy, Honaker, VA 24260). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
