He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Edward and Bessie Mae Defrice Whitt; and his brother James William Whitt. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Whitt; his children, Arthur Edward Whitt, James Howard Cox of Lenoir and Rhonda Horn (James) of Honaker, Virginia; his grandchildren, Miranda "Sissy", Marie, Katie, Jessica, Gary, Travis, Johnny, Christopher and Raylan; his great grandchildren, Dakota, Tommy, Sawyer, Bella and Haven; his sisters, Elizabeth Rummley (Raymond) of Rosedale, Bertha Kiser of Honaker and Bonnie Ray (Darrell) of Lebanon, Virginia; his brother-in-law Foxy Reynolds; his nephews, Danny and Jerry Reynolds; and his close friends, Jerry, Gerelene Pruitt and Andrea Proffitt. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
