It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lonnie Blackwell (Honaker, Virginia), born in Richlands, Virginia, who passed away on December 9, 2019, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Blackwell and Mary Hawkins Blackwell; his daughter Hope Blackwell Stump; and his siblings, Catherine Blackwell, Ricky Blackwell and Ronald Blackwell.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy McCarty Blackwell; his children, Anthony Blackwell (Leah) of Honaker and Heather Blackwell (Cody) of Lebanon; his granddaughter Angel Beavers of Alabama; his stepgrandsons, Benjamin and Noah Mullins; his siblings, Rod Blackwell (Lora) of Honaker, Jeni Neely (Eddie) of Abingdon and Jewel Blackwell of Honaker; his close friends, Alan and Delzina Hubbard; and his nephews, Cody, Matthew Blackwell, Todd Blackson of Chad Blackson, R. J and Joe Griffith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The ALS Association, P.O. Box 37022, Boone, IA 50037-0022 in memory of Lonnie and help put an end to this devastating disease.
