He was predeceased by: his parents, William McKinley and Mae Miller Owens; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Hubbard, Roger Hubbard (Mildred) and Tom Hubbard.
He is survived by: his wife Joy Owens; his son David Owens (Jennifer) of Honaker; his siblings, Clara Nell Partin and Park Dean Owens; and his siblings-in-law, Willis Hubbard (Sharon), Darrell "Bo" Hubbard (Teresa), Larry Hubbard, Johnny Hubbard (Christine), Ralph Hubbard (Sherry), L. D. Hubbard, Novella and Cathy Hubbard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
