He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Owens and Mary McFarlane Owens; and his siblings, Laska Fuller, Evelyn Musick, Ashby Owens, Emerson Owens, Benny Owens and B. M. Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Tiller Owens; his children, Janet Sutherland (John) of Honaker, Jackie Owens (Vicki) of Lebanon and Jody Mathis (Jeff) of Council; his grandchildren, Kellie Breeding (Mike), Aaron Ratliff (Sylvia), Jessee Owens (Chassidy), Hannah Barton (Jake) and Maddie Edwards (Peyton); his stepgrandchildren, Ross Sutherland (Krista) and Taylor Sutherland; his great grandchildren, Bailey Harris, Emma Ratliff, Camden Breeding, Sean Ratliff, Eliana Owens and Kylan Barton; his stepgrandchildren, Gracie Hughes, Amelia Sutherland, Arie Jo Sutherland, Raeleigh Breeding, Lance Sutherland and Jon Ross Sutherland; and his nephew Danny Owens (Pattie). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Honaker Funeral Home (4686 Redbud Hwy, Honaker, VA 24260). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
