He is survived by: his wife Pearl Nadine Compton Hess; his children, Teresa Compton of Jonesborough, Sandra Kay Dye of Honaker, Steve Hess (Leanne) of Morristown and Heath Dye (Hailey) of Anchorage, Alaska; his daughter-in-law Anna Hess; his grandchildren, Robbie, Angie, Preston, Jordan, Kayla, Brittany, Courtney, Shane and Logan; his great grandchildren, Lucas, Cameron, Leighton Joy, Skylar, Nicolas, Kennedi and Kamilah; and his mother-in-law Zora Compton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
