He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Lee and Delania "Dee" Austin Hess; his wife Maxine Sullivan Hess; his son Brian Hess; and his siblings, Hampton Geter Hess, Cora Belle McGlothlin, Harlis and Carlis Hess.
He is survived by: his children, Tony Hess (Doris) of Council, Tim Hess (Denise) of Council, Phyllis Hess of Council, Jennifer Jackson (Tommy) of Council and Regina Harris (Curtis) of Council; his grandchildren, Jessica Jackson (Derrick), Sandra Cook (Josh), Neil Jackson (Kristen), Wendell Harris (Monica), Courtney Hess (Jason Perkins Jacob) and Isaac Hess; his daughter-in-law Becky Hess; his great grandchildren, Samuel, Carter, Emma Harris, Sophia Cook, Miles and Kate Jackson; and his sister Jacqueline Fletcher. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Honaker Funeral Home (4686 Redbud Hwy, Honaker, VA 24260). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
