She was predeceased by: her parents, Eli Jackson and Mary Jackson; her former husband Sid Compton; her grandson Zachary Prater-Pursifull; and her siblings, Charles Worley Jackson, Roy Jackson, Roby Jackson, Bob Jackson, Gene Jackson, Monnie Wilson, Roberta Hale, Lola Crouse and Emma Barton.
She is survived by: her husband Douglas Lester; her children, Janie Thomas (Gary) and Allen Compton (Susan); her granddaughter Whitney Compton; her great grandchildren, Larry Lester (Trish), Mike Lester (Connie), Barbara Monk (Jamie) and Douglas Lester, Jr. (Sharon); her sister-in-law Mary Jane Compton; her caregiver Contessa Osborne (John); and also Ed Osborne. She is also survived by eight step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Compton Cemetery.
Per Eura's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Gent's Chapel Church or Valley View Church.
