He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Coleman and Ethel Dye Coleman; his wife Betty Coleman; and his siblings, Hubert Coleman, J. R. Coleman, Don Coleman, Delmas Coleman, Junior Coleman, Nola Hess, Janive Perkins, Thelma Meadows and Velva Meadows.
He is survived by: his close friend Peggy Hess; his son Randy Coleman of Asheboro; his nephew Bob Hess (Lucy) of Tennessee; and his niece Linda Hale of Swords Creek. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
