He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanford Peerman and Hazel Lowe Penley; his brother Danny Lee Penley; and his brother-in-law Dewey Edmond Deel, Jr.. He is survived by: his sisters, Janet Sandra Penley of Drill, Karen Deel of Pounding Mill and Carol Jeffers (Danny) of Abingdon, Virginia; his nephews, Daniel Sykes, Jonathon Deel and Mason Jeffers; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Cambria Sykes, Coheed Sykes, Alkaline Sykes and Hazel Deel.
