He was predeceased by: his parents, James Zed Shepherd and Lowe Shepherd of Nevada; his siblings, Clarence, Edward Shepherd, Phyllis Lester and Lois Israel; and his close friend Harold Dean Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Crabtree (Josh) of Elk Garden and Jeremy Shepherd of Clarksville; his grandchildren, Parker and Ellie Jo; and his sisters, Brenda Baldwin of Church Hill, TN, Barbara Ray of Drill, VA and Jennifer Roark (Ricky). He is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home (1401 2nd St, Richlands, VA 24641). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
