He is survived by: his son Daniel Sykes (Alaina); his siblings, Janet Sandra Penley, Ernie Penley, Karen Deel and Carol Jeffers (Danny); his grandchildren, Cambria Sykes, Coheed Sykes and Alkaline Sykes; his close friend Carla Sykes; his stepson Brandon Sykes; and his nephews, Jonathon Deel and Mason Jeffers.
