He was predeceased by: his mother Mamie Marie Hale; his aunt Amy Lee Hale; his brother Wayne Eugene "Jay" Hale; his niece Wanda Crabtree; and his former wife Barbara Sue Hale.
He is survived by: his children, Rodney Curtis Hale (Melissa) of Belfast and Jennifer Hale Gauldin (Stephen) of Abingdon, Virginia; his grandchildren, Hunter Gauldin, Austin Barnhart, Charlotte Gauldin, Mary Hale, Matthew Hale, Jacob Hale and Hannah Hale; his sister Betty Gibson (Raymond) of Clarksville, Tennessee; his cousin Sue Harris of Honaker, Virginia; his nieces and nephews, Shannon Rash, Nick Hale, Wayne Hale, Jr. and Tammy Cawman; and his close friends, William Harrison, David Gildart and Chuck Price.
