He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex McKinley and Lola Mae Baldwin Sheppard; his brothers, Carl Sheppard and Ralph Sheppard; and his sisters-in-law, Martha and Virginia.
He is survived by: his spouse America Cathern Harris Sheppard; his daughters, Alice Sheppard and Barbara Sheppard Matney (Gregory); his siblings, Needem Sheppard (Peggy), Otis Sheppard (Wyona), Earnest Sheppard and Mildred Honaker; and his sister-in-law Geneva Sheppard. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
