He was predeceased by: his father Harvey Jay Long; and his brother Gary "Jed" Long. He is survived by: his parent Merlie Long (Sponaugle) of Rawley Springs; his daughters, Misty Shaver (Bud) and Amy Fulk (Josh); his grandchildren, Whittney Trump (Jacob), Brooke Shaver and Emma Fulk; and his siblings, Edna Roadcap, Emily Fitzgerald (Ernest), Glenna Gill and Willis "Rich".
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Rawley Springs Church Cemetery (10632 Rawley Pike, Hinton, VA 22831). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church (9148 Rawley Pike, Hinton, VA 22831).
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to Mount Olive Presbyterian Church, 9148 Rawley Pike, Hinton, VA 22831 and/or Clover Hill Rescue Squad, 2100 Clover Hill Rd, Dayton, VA 22821.
