He was predeceased by: his parents, Saylor Milton and Ruby Pearl Zirkle; his sister Jean Anne Wall; and his brother-in-law Wayne Tester. He is survived by: his wife Jean "Jeanie" Smith Will; his children, Julianne Zerkel (Phil) of Lacey Springs and Joel Will (Annette) of Harrisonburg; his siblings, Joyce Rahe (Dewain) of Wilmington, NC, Larry Will (Patsy) of Lynch, Jim Will of Dayton, Judy Hartman (Charles "Babe") of Harrisonburg and Ivy Tester of Johnson City, TN; his grandchildren, William Zerkel, Nathan Zerkel, Mandi Aimone (Cody) and Tyler Will; his great grandchildren, Alison Aimone and Chloe Aimone; and his brother-in-law Floyd Wall. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
