She was predeceased by: her parents, M. C. Hensley and Grace Wood Hensley; and her sisters, Minnie Blalock, Lois Houser and Virginia Hensley.
She is survived by: her spouse Auburn Kern; her sister Janelle Speers; her nieces and nephews, Linda Cross (Chris), Leta Yvonne Deyerle (Robert), Sherwin Sumner (Judy), Rickey Sumner (Diana), Morgan Houser (Gloria), Grady Blalock (Shirley) and Raymond Blalock (Betsy); and her close friend Sue Vaughn.
