He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Ross and Ruth Olive Webb White; and his siblings, Marvin White, Thorton White and Louetta Young.
He is survived by: his wife Fayogle H. White; his children, James Ross White, Nellie W. Walthers, Pauletta Jewell White, Sara Lou Matlock and Sylvan White, Jr. (Teresa); and his sister Lena Dalton. He is also survived by several grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
