He is survived by: his wife Joyce Chandler Cox; his grandchildren, Stuart Marquis Cox and Delaney Cox; his stepson Scott (Michelle Richardson); his grandchildren, Dylan and Alexandra Richardson; his brother David; his sister-in-law Kay Cox; his sister Margaret Summerlin of Raleigh, NC; his friends, Wise Webb and Mike Snider; and also Juliana Spencer Cox. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
