It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Paul Preston Jones (Hillsville, Virginia), born in Cana, Virginia, who passed away on February 21, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John David Jones and Lottie Evelyn King Jones; his former wife Oleta Horton Jones; and his siblings, Mildred Frances Jones Griffith, Mary Ruth Jones Woody, Lela Celeste Jones Collins, Elizabeth Ann Jones Rivers, Charlotte Louise Jones Dickson, Charles Reid Jones and John David Jones, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Betty Key Jones; his daughter Cynthia Paulette Jones Jackson; his son-in-law Thomas M. Jackson Jr. of Galax; his grandchildren, Thomas M. Jackson III (Amy Elizabeth Jackson) of Galax and Jenna Jackson Morris (Matthew Sidney Morris) of Smyrna, Georgia; his great grandchildren, Bryce Thomas Jackson and Tucker Mark Jackson; his stepdaughter Jamie Smith (Albert Smith) of Ararat, NC; his stepgranddaughters, Sarah Smith Hardy (Zach Hardy) of Ararat, NC and Valerie Smith Alvarez (Fred Alvarez) of San Antonio, TX; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jack Hardy, Saul Hardy, Scarlett Alvarez and Phoenix Alvarez.
