He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Wayne and Ovila Briggs; and his siblings, Jimmy Briggs, Ruth McGlocklin, Billy Briggs, Rev. Bobby Briggs, Russell Briggs, Darlene Thomas and Tommy Briggs.
He is survived by: his wife Zona Frazier Briggs; his children, Rhonda Criss (Ricky) of North Augusta, SC and Philip (Sabrina) of Chesapeake, OH; his grandchildren, Trista Briggs of South Point, OH, Jacob Criss and Holly Criss; his great grandchildren, Melodie and Ella Briggs of South Point, OH; his siblings, Florence Collins of Salem, VA and Jackie Briggs (Joanne) of Waynesboro, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Thomas of Glade Spring, VA, Roger McGlocklin, Myrtle Briggs, Dot Briggs, Glade Springs, Linda Briggs and Marion. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
