He was predeceased by: his parents, Almon R. Jones and Bessie Payne Jones; his daughter Cynthia L. Jones; his grandson Robert Mitchell Jones; and his siblings, Jean Vernon of Virginia, Johnny Jones and Douglas F. Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Conner Jones; his son Richard; his daughter-in-law Linda Jones of Lake City, FL; his daughter Vicky; his son-in-law Martin Dean Hylton of Hillsville; and his grandchildren, Mark Jones (Samantha), Brandi Gravely (Nolan), Jessica Warren (Jamie), Jordan Hylton-Risden (David), Carmen Ramantanin (Jason) and Carla Fell (Stephen). He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
