Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Fern Janis Porterfield of Hillsville, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 91, on August 25, 2020. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Willis and Nina Lawson Winesett; her husband Andrew Porterfield; her sister Iva Merle; and her brothers-in-law, Melborne Sharp and Barney Cowan.
She is survived by: her sons, Ivan Porterfield of Galax, Virginia, Don (Sue Lynn Porterfield) and Keith (Robyn Porterfield). She is also survived by six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to either the Christ Chapel Building Fund or to the Joy Ranch for Children.
