He is survived by: his children, P. J. (Meta Smith), David (Fara Born) and Alexander (Shelly Smith); his grandchildren, Joseph Perry, Lovina Goad, Kileigh King, Deanna Witherspoon, Spencer Born, Savannah Born and Madison Smith; and his great grandchildren, Grayson Smith, Ryan Goad and Elaina Goad.
