He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph David and Zola Lee Terry McCormick; and his great grandchild Garrett Starkey. He is survived by: his wife Vernell Horton McCormick; his sons, David (Regina McCormick), Ronnie (Deborah McCormick) and Larry (Nancy McCormick); his brother Bobby McCormack; his grandchildren, Nathaniel McCormick of Independence, VA, Ashley (Michael Starkey), Holly (Jason Budden), Michaela (Ethan Huff) and Joseph McCormick of Hillsville, VA; and his great grandchildren, McKenzie Starkey, Braxton Starkey, Parker McCormick and Lydia Huff. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
