He was predeceased by: his parents, James Edward Garrett, Jr. and Mildred Ford Garrett; and his wife Carolyn P. Garrett. He is survived by: his siblings, Judy Satterwhite (Roy) and Dennis Garrett; his daughter Grace Garrett; his granddaughters, Lindsey Heuvel (Chris) and Courtney Whetten (Jesse); and his great grandchildren, Max, Savannah Heuvel, Adalyn, Everett Whetten and Penny Koopman.
