She was predeceased by: her parents, Miguel Chavez Parada and Carmen Poligenia Roca Aguayo. She is survived by: her children, Paulita Matheny (Penarrieta Chavez), Reymar Douglas Penarrieta Chavez (Yessica Valdivia Justiniano) and Isabel Penarrieta; and her grandchildren, Paulo Leony Matheny, J. Kendrick Matheny, Brian Penarrieta, Christian Penarrieta, Lauren Penarrieta, Santiago Penarrieta, Flavia Penarrieta and Luciana Penarrieta.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to her cherished church, St. John's Catholic Church in Highland Springs, Virginia.
