He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond Cranley and Mary Cranley; his wife Moira Hally Cranley; his children, Gregory Thomas and Ellen Katherine; and his siblings, Jane Whited of Glen Cove, Mary Noel Cranley of Glen Cove and Tim Cranley of Washington. He was also cherished by fourteen nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Adams-Green Funeral Chapel (721 Elden St, Herndon, VA 20170). A Mass was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (750 Peachtree St, Herndon, VA 20170). A reception was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 at 12:00 PM at 697 Spring St, Herndon, VA 20170.
