He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy J. Eggleton and Lula Shumate Eggleton. He is survived by: his wife Susan Burgess Eggleton; his children, Matthew R. Eggleton and Amanda S. Eggleton; his brother Edward R. Eggleton; his siblings-in-law, Peggy Burgess, Bill Burgess (Carolyn) and Mike Burgess (Sandra); his nieces, Melissa Eggleton and Terri Burgess; and his nephew Jonathan Burgess.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Town Creek Primitive Baptist Church or Christian Heritage Academy.
