Powell and Bessie Lee Powell; his brother Lowell Thomas; his daughter-in-law Lois Powell; his sons, Randy "Moe" and Bruce "Mingo" Powell; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Bryce "Dynomite", Aiden, Kyndel Bell, Bronx and Brooke; his siblings, Geneva Mason, Gloria Young (Marvin), Norman (Linda) and Dean (Celie); and his siblings-in-law, Billy Woods (Carol) and Essie Wilson. He was also cherished by nephews, nieces, and cousins.
